The more the player advances in the game, the more new characters he unlocks. The system is really identical to that of a classic RPG with an environment to explore and a team of characters to manage during clashes with bosses. The difference with the previous games of the saga also lies in the fact that the animatronics are very cute and not at all terrifying.
