BioShock Infinite is an action game that takes the player to 1912 and puts him in the shoes of Booker DeWitt, henchman and detective in debt. His mission is to bring back to New York a young woman obviously held back in Columbia, a mysterious floating city, and he will use a varied arsenal as well as a palette of powers known as Tonics.
The city of Columbia, a city that floats in the air by means of quantum mechanics known as "frozen quantum particles", was built and launched in 1900 by the United States government with a lot of advertising to demonstrate its technological superiority and military to the rest of the world. However, soon after its launch, the city is revealed to be a well-armed warship, particularly involved in an international incident, the Boxer Revolt. The city is disowned by the government of the United States, and its location soon forgotten by all, causing its isolation. Booker DeWitt, a detective and bounty hunter, is hired to find a woman who disappeared 15 years ago, named Elizabeth, and who is believed to be a prisoner in Columbia.
