The story of Tales of Xillia takes place in the world of Rieze Maxia. Mana is at the heart of everything there and its existence is threatened by the leaders of the kingdom of rashugal who are about to absorb all that remains of mana through a powerful machine. To prevent this and prevent them from developing a weapon as deadly as it is uncontrollable, Maxwell, the Lord of the Spirits, takes human form and incarnates in the person of Milla. But the young woman very quickly finds herself dispossessed of the power of the four great Spirits (Efrit, Ondine, Sylphe and Gnome) and must count on the help of Jude Mathis, the son of a renowned scientist, to get out of it. The adventure can then truly begin.
